A “geek” or someone with a “geeky” nature/personality is someone who is obsessed, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable to a degree of expert in a subject, often in the realm of technology, digital space, or other specialized topic.
Historically on the outskirts of society with niche obsessions, the world of geekdom was once ignorantly viewed as a branch of uncool eccentrics with unusual activities or interests. The 21st century has revealed geeks and geeky humans are in fact closer aligned to “geek chic” with influence in fashion, movies, games, mobile apps, technology, and the lesser stepchild: memes.
No one bullies the geek that builds the robot army, and with AI and automation in full swing and ever-evolving, the knowledgeable and obsessive interests among geeky humans will inevitably be the last line of defense against SkyNet or related sentient robot incursions.
